Held in the halls of the Olympia exhibition centre, The London Book Fair 2015 hosted the global marketplace for rights negotiation and the sale of print, audio, TV, film and digital content. For the prestigious annual event, Media Structures was approached by the brand exhibition company Freeman, with a brief to produce a large-scale free standing book display to mark the exhibition’s entrance.
Distinctive, intelligent and powerful design makes for an unforgettable experience and enforces a strong reputation for the company hosting the event, and even their sponsors or associated organisations. It was therefore crucial that we created a structure that was unique and impactful, yet cohesive to reflect the London Book Fair’s image and goals for the exhibition.
In just a few days the Media Structures 3D design team had come up with the perfect solution; they envisaged a free standing six metre high bookcase which would display five books advertising the selected authors for the event. Each book end was curved, then branded and graded in colour to add interest and create a life like, 3D effect. The structure had to be impressive, modern, and still underline the established nature of the organisation. With thousands of industry publishing professionals attending the fair and celebrities launching the event, it was important that the structure was clearly branded with the distinctive London Book Fair logo and captured the essence of the event.
The result was a display that complemented the traditional backdrop of the Olympia centre, yet stood out for attendees looking to learn about the latest trends and network with the publishing industry’s finest. Media Structures delivered a successful project that functioned as an informative event marker for both exhibitors and attendees. The display also provided a great location for photos, to increase brand engagement online and the organisation’s reputation to a wide ranging audience.
